:D

You would really need two FF's to cannibalize in order to get it centered at the width you'd want. The more common way is to use PU outers SF but not c-clip.

The other option would be to try and find a way to mate the LC split-case to the Taco trans. Doable at some cost. The easiest way would be to go from the the Taco trans to a Toy reduction box using Marlin's parts. Then from the Toybox unit back to the LC Split case.
I'm thinking that I can make the cuts offset in the right places relative to each housing and end up with a centered diff. The axle shafts will be double splined customs using 80 series drive flanges. I considered the PU method and decided that I wanted a FF when I was done. Rear disc swap will be much simpler with the FF.

For me a D60 is not even on the list of considered options. Es muy feo.....

I know I saw a 40 for sale a long while ago that had a full TACO drivetrain, but I don't remember exactly what they did with the axles. I would love to see how that would play out in a 60.

There have been a few, most I've seen ended up with a centered rear diff and a left hand drop axle either custom Toyota housing or a domestic axle.

There used to be a pretty neat spring green FJ45 with a SC'd 3.4 running around the Grand Junction area, belonged to John Smetna. Anyone know if its still out there?

Three letters Wil... 4BT.

Just witnessed a conversion completed on a 62 at Iron Pig Offroad. Amazing power and it sounds so sweet!

Uhh...two maybe?....and a number?

Take a look at the FS ads of late for the 4BT converted vehicles. It is a noisy engine, so be forewarned.

I'm looking to get back into a 60, so I'm keeping my eyes and ears open to what other people are currently doing. Unfortunately, I'll have to deal with the smog police, which is always a limiting factor...

Thank you for your correction, sir! A number and two letters indeed!

Meh... noise for you, music for others; among all the options out there, I think the owner will consider the best option for him.

Heavens no! I'd love to hear the noise of a 4BT under my hood.

Take into consideration the oil pan clearances as well. Something close to 4" of lift is needed to clear everything.

Hmmm, so what's it going to be then, top-end rebuild, or straight to the SBC? My 2F is getting pretty tired with 290,000 on it, and I'm having a hard time deciding myself, between freshening her up, and swapping in the SBC...

I think the top-end rebuild is going to be in order while i start awaking the beast!
