Where to park at Rocky Point/Puerto Penasco?...

Third recommendation for the Playa Bonita. I've stayed there since the 70's, when there was no hotel. Describing it as a KOA is apt, but the beach is nice. Unless you know someone with property, it's unlikely you'll find any private places (as kai38 mentions).

    The Bush Winch

Yes, by swapping the hubs, it seems. They have a keyhole slot in them, so as the wheel rotates it retains the hub on the rim/studs. By reversing those, you can use this backing up. That looks like a nice feature.

    Cheap Freightliner......Not affiliated

Not a lot of detail in the ad... but you're right, that seems a great deal! I love that extended cab, like Ozrockrat's rig.

tgreening - then you'd like Australia. I was surprised to find that the most-common premium import beer there was Corona! So... back to the rig discussion and the suspenseful photo. Are you going 4WD? It looks like you're bringing back a front drive axle. Inquiring minds want to know!

From Freightliner ambulance to RV - we hope!

Exciting! I look forward to seeing the treasures! We do have a Raptor Liner kit, too, which I plan to use on the front end (grill and other forward-facing surfaces on the hood), the front of the box, and the truck roof.

I guess I neglected to put the hot tub in the plan, huh? :-) Speaking of which, it was fun to see the inflatable hot tub in use at Expo West this year. Oh, the things we all can do... Anyway, it's Monday and I ought to be listing all the amazing things we accomplished or did this weekend...

    1994 International 4700 Conversion Begins

Damn, those lights are a great fit! Have you powered them up yet? I'm anxious to see what mine look like, but I'm flying out early in the morning to New Jersey. Unfortunately I'll be gone all week.

Man, I love that monitoring system. I will definitely be getting one of those dongles and a Windows tablet (with a USB port). Great info from that thing. Happy travels, Oz.

TRIP OF LIFETIME, DOUSED BY ATTITUDE

30 years, wow! Good for you. I was in the Phoenix metro area, 5 years with Maricopa County SO (way, pre-Joe!) and the remainder with Phoenix PD. But, I'm now in Flagstaff and well into a second career in something completely different. But, I get the sudden change and how that can impact...

Thanks, Pat! But, you forget... mine was a police retirement, not a fire retirement. :ylsmoke: Anyway, we're getting closer to paint. It seems that, as we get down to the nitty gritty details, those drag on forever. I admit that I much prefer the big progress of something substantial...

That's a nice looking bumper! And a nice mounting job... that's not going anywhere.

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Exactly! The same as on every patrol car I drove, except painted olive drab... Most of the listings have the sharply angled mounting bracket, for the A pillar of an automobile. I liked that these look like perpendicular mounts, so one should work on our rig. Old school, in the extreme, but...

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Wow, it must be spotlight season! I just bought one for our rig. But, I'm almost embarrassed to show what it is. This light progression's gone from the super-cool, high-tech remote controlled light, to a slightly more old-school version, to this... two beat up military surplus lights for $20...

From Freightliner ambulance to RV - we hope!

I finally got our own front bumper mounted and re-installed the hood hinge brackets. With those loose, I couldn't drive the rig to check the speedometer after changing the DIP switch settings. Well, today, I finally got to check that out... I found that the settings I had painstakingly...

    1994 International 4700 Conversion Begins

Looking good and sturdy, Scooter! Nice cuts, too... do you have a bandsaw for those? BTW, on my rig and Oz's our bumper brackets are bolted on with two 5/8-inch grade 8 bolts, about 8 inches apart. Mine, since it sticks out farther, offers a greater moment and more resulting potential force...

From Freightliner ambulance to RV - we hope!

Hi all, and thanks for the input. Trust me, I get the difference between cheap and good. For my EDC bag, and for my wife, we have great Streamlight flashlights. And, for weapons lights, I again go for quality. But, when we wander out to the hot tub at night, the flashlight which gets used...

From Freightliner ambulance to RV - we hope!

Thanks, Bob... those P06 lights look like they'd fit perfectly in the bumper openings. I don't think any of us have tried the cheapo ones yet, but we're all anxious to find out.
