    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Okay, I'm about done fixing this thing. Should be in tip top shape by Tuesday evening. Which is good cause I miss it. Been too long without 4wd and the snow will likely be coming soon.

Update: I opened the front diff that's on it. It looked fine. :( Now, I'll switch it out, but I'm still thinking the transmission output shaft sleeve needs replacing. Once I do that, it'll be back to bulletproof. ;) Sucks that Iron pig here in F'burg was supposed to check it and didn't. Guys...

    2nd Gen heater

The coolant flush will help for a bit. A month or two. Then it'll probably get cold again. Mine spits out warm air as long as it isn't too frigid outside. I'm guessing the heater cores are prone to scaling. Hence the reason they make warm air for a bit, then get cold again. I've flushed my...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Yeah, got the front DS. Also, the right side cv is the same for both the sr and ls. The left is shorter for the sr and since the boot on the left was busted on the sr diff, I'll be getting a new one. I'll also be installing new seals. I was sure to get that DS as I learned my lesson when I...

Picked up an SR front diff today. Doing the install next week. I'll keep everyone posted. After this, my rig will have the rear diff, front diff, and transfer case all out of the SR. So, basically it will be an SR without the hassle of the 3.5 engine. ;)

Thanks for all the help Justice. I went through all of the vacuum tubes and actuator for the front engagement slide. All work and look to be in good order. I even pushed the slide in and clamped it there to test it.... Same results. The way it's acting, I'm really thinking its the ring and...

Alternator switched out. Holds when the tcase is locked. Let's loose when in 4hi unlocked(AWD). It's in the front for sure.

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I'll be working on it for the rest of the day and will update soon. I've locked the vacuum piston forward and backwards to check function, but still run into the problem. The cv axles are in one piece and isn't the issue. I'm in the process of swapping the...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

In any transfer case setting other than 2hi, it lets loose and grinds when a load is put on it. Then continues for a bit until the engine slows back down. I believe I've narrowed it down to the transmission output shaft sleeve. It seems to be what matches the symptoms best. It has a new Tcase in...

Oh yeah, anyone have any ideas what could be going on with the 4wd. I think I remember reading somewhere about the transmission input shaft sleeve causing the issue. Or something to this nature....

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Sorry for being MIA lately. In light of some current situations abroad, I've been indisposed. I'll be taking my truck in next week. In the meantime, I'll be putting a new alternator on it as the voltage regulator has gone bad in mine. Thank god for lifetime warranty parts. Also, I retract any...

    2nd Gen heater

I've still not figured mine out. It works halfway on the driver side, but nil on the passenger side. Install a 12v aux heater to make up the difference. Works well enough. I'm sure the heater core is corroded internally and a flush only works for a day or two because of it. It works good enough...

    InvisibleOne's BugOut Build.

I know the black would match, but wouldn't keeping it white make it more comfortable as to not absorb so much heat? Keep it cooler in there for any rear passengers/goods. Makes a little more practical sense. Insulation can be as easy as stick on sound insulator. Works well with no noises to deal...

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Street tires are some of he best tires to use in the sand. I'd start airing those tires down though. Not only do you get better traction by airing down, it keeps the transmission happy.

I know the ad says 4x4, put IIRC that looks to be a 2wd seeing how the front hubs aren't the 4x4 ones....
