Day 3 - Part One - Yuma to Quartzsite
Just a quick refuel stop with wi-fi; I'll work on some text this evening and upload next time we hit civilization. Here are some shots from this morning's run from Yuma to Quartzsite, including the trip to the Castle Dome Mining Museum:

Made it to Crown King last night. Limited Internet, can't upload any photos, but processed a bunch. Heading to Prescott this morning, should roll in around 1pm. Need to do some basic maint to the 4Runner, then we'll get to the photos tonight. Trip is going great, we've certainly covered a lot of miles so far.

Fire! Driving from Crown King to Prescott on the inappropriately named Senator Highway, when things started getting pretty smokey. Getting closer with thicker and thicker smoke over the trail. Finally we reach an outpost of rangers who greatly relieve us with the news that's it's a controlled proscribed burn, and that the road ahead "is probably safe". Got some cool photos!

Dripping Springs

My first attempt at astrophotography, inspired by the indescribably clear sky's. The glow over the horizon I assume to be from Phoenix.

Not only from native american overlanders, but also from subsequent overlanders, this one from 1858.

Though I had come to loathe them on a one on one basis, the forest of cholla surrounding our campsite was a sight to behold.

Our accidentally all corn meal - corn tamales, sweet corn and corn chips. Tasted great, but definitely could have used some color.
