Yea. It was not on their site for a while and they just put it back up. I'm getting a refund at REI or gonna see if they will price match.

I exported the file to the SD card and put that into my laptop (built in reader) and converted it via GPSBabel (as Explorist file input > Google maps output) and then imported the file into Google Maps (must be a paid membership to import GPS).

I did not get my Topo software in time for my Mexico trip, so I did enter the waypoints to my destination in Mexico this is a remote beach area, after pavement ended I had a waypoint followed by another waypoint and it took me over the trails to my destination, I arrive late at night it was dark, however my gps did what it was supposed to do and I arrive within 20ft!
Overall I am very happy with my gps!

Confirming my Luditeness, I have not figured out how to pre-enter coordinates on my Crossover. Are you using the PC to do it? If so, How?

I have a few more questions to you people that have hands on expierence with the crossover. CNET stated that it was a little sluggish in initial start up and when giving direction turn by turn directions. It also said it was a slow on route recalculations. Does anyone else have this complaint? It is the only thing holding me back. I like the touch screen, rugged build, and the voice (w/street names) turn by turn nav. I just worry about speed performance when navigating Chicago streets.

Another neat thing we found was, you can put it in "hold" mode which turns the screen off but doesn't do a full power off. This way you can come back very quickly. When you are in Nav mode, it still keeps the voice mode going so you can still hear your turns but not have the screen on. Saves even more power if you don't have it hooked to your 12v.
My friend has ridden with me twice now and commented on how he likes the way it tells you to veer left or right at a Y instead of saying turn right or left. Many other models he has played with says turn and you start looking for a real turn instead of the Y.
I am VERY happy with this unit. BTW, there is a firmware upgrade which changes most of the GUI look and menu layout. I have found I like it even better then how it shipped. It's one way so once you load it, you can't go back. It made it even faster and I think the menu layouts are more logical.
You won't be disappointed in this unit. From what I can tell, there is no perfect unit out there so find one that works for you and your needs. I found mine. :26_7_2:
