Make sure you put some edging trim around the bottom of the propane tank so it doesn't scuff up the diamond plate. We use something similar to McMasters 24175K42

Thanks! Not a bad idea about the rubber. I did reinforce the ammo can from the inside and also added some little post on three sides to keep the side to side motion. It is very sturddy now but the rubber trim would be a big help. Off to the state patrol tomorrow, wish me luck:26_7_2:

I've been looking for trailers locally, but the ones that I'm finding are 2-1/2-ton ammo trailers that are crazy heavy - what weight rating is that trailer you picked up?

As is how much does it weight? Stock these are about 550ish lbs. and I think are rated at 1/4 ton if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah thanks, the one's I keep finding weigh over 2,000#!!!! I can't afford that much extra weight for carrying camping gear. I thought yours looked like a 1/4-ton model, that's what I need to search for.

Had you thought about some little rubber grommets where the wire passes through the frame, to protect it from abrasion?

Thought about it, but the wires are zip tied in so many locations and that extension cord is pretty thick that it should be fine.

It's finally done, ya right:elkgrin: Got my Eezi Awn 1800 last week from Paul at Equipt, it is his personal off of his AT trailer. We have had this in the works for a few months now and I'm so excited to finally have it. My lid comes to a rased point in the middle which made mounting it kind of a challenge at first without the use of roof rack bars. It would have just barely cleared but didn't realize until I got it that there was a center support bar that ran the full length so I had to use some super strut as a spacer underneath. The next problem was the my gas shocks were mounted way to far back and couldn't lift the lid with the tent so they had to be moved to the latch side which now they work like a champ.

Friday was the first test run and yes it is in the backyard What better place to test it. It got down to the mid 30's over night and was very comfortable. Hopefully next week will be the real test on the trail
