Easy Street on Mud Tires
So, I started with this - a bone stock 2001 60th Anniversary Edition XJ - one of just 2778 made in Silverstone Metallic
Added in a 3" lift some bumpers, some armor, and Bridgestone Duelers 31's MTs
As it sits now, at 5.5" with even more armor and 265 Firestone Destination MTs.

1998 Sport 4.0L with AW4, NP242, D30HP/D35 and upcountry suspension

- Silverstone 31x10.5 on 0 offset 15x7 steel rims
- 3" hybrid OME and budget boost lift
- alloy Jeep pre-97 bull bar with pair of 18W LED bars custom fitted including DRL harness
- IRO 5/8" OTK steering
- RE super flex lower short arms
- full headers and 2.5" exhaust with high flow cat
- MSD coil and wide gapped plugs
- late model horseshoe intake
- 4-hole injectors
- 39L fridge
- 180AH second battery in the boot
- CTEK D250S dual DC-DC charger
- Amber/white 22" 180W LED light bar up front
- pair 12W LED lights on the roof
- 2.5x2m awning
Next steps this year are:
- bracing around steering box (major cracking there)
- rear TJ flares all round and cut & fold rear quarter panels
- 33x10.5 KM2s
- SYE & tummy tuck (transfer case clock)
- drawers
And next year:
- rear bar / tyre carrier
- Ford 8.8 rear
- locked front end...

I just picked up this 2001 5MT XJ. It was actually my father's; he bought it new in 2001 and babied it, so it's in super-great shape. Currently, it has 235/75/15 Yokohama Gelandars on some 12-hold MB Wheels, some crappy side steps (that'll be coming off), and I just put my BajaRack Mule and ARB 1250 awning on it. I also just installed a Curt hitch and wired up my ARB fridge. Anyhow, I took it out on its maiden off-pavement adventure (literally, this thing has never left the pavement in 15 years). Did great. Photos were form the Tahyua State Forest in Washington.
