Project Motodog

Ok, the secondary chain drive needed more triangulation:

Brought out the ole stick welder to tack it:

And welded it:

Pulled the carbs and cleaned them again today:

I think the fuel tank is rusty on the inside what makes the nozzles getting clocked, so i put a small filter in the fuel line:

It`s running, but not really smooth. Have to get into that in a while. :

Mounted the strut:

And put on the secondary chain. Have to redo the chain tensioner because it`s not lined up anymore:

Is there any interest in this? Posting for over a week without an answer implies that there is not much left...

This afternoon was a meeting from the german enginners forums and i really wanted to take the Motodog with me, so i started finishing the track this morning:

Cut two windows to reach the track tensioners:

Ready to launch:

And like you can see on the video it worked like a charm. Really happy about that. Was even able to drive in my vanagon under it`s own power:

Its really cool, and well built, but umm... what is it?

Agreed, I just stumbled on this thread and think its awesome!!! Your work is top nothc as well, but what is this thing? Are you going to stand on a sled behind it in the snow or?????????

Well, no idea how to call it, i think it`s my invention... :smiley_drive:

Plan is to stand behind on skis and let me pull. But I`ll eventually buy a small 800lbs trailer to sit on to make it a complete vehicle...

Did some more testing today:

The Hägglund is on hold until this one is finished.

Did some more testing yesterday:

Works great, but i need to get a thumb throttle like a atv soon.

Pretty easy answer, there is nothing like a high center of gravity. :smiley_drive:

Fixed up the chain tensioner. It was a plastic wheel and not in the middle:

Wanted to put on a steel wheel and weld a sprocket to it:

16529890cx.jpg

Because the sprocket was hardened when i welded the shaft to it i wasn`t able to bore it out. So i used a hole saw and cut it out:

Then i was able to bore it out:

Fit`s:

Unforunatel there was not enough room for the sprocket so i`ll try it with just the steel wheel for now. If it doesn`t work i`ll cut the tensioner mount off and reweld it:

I want to see it run in the snow! There are lots of videos of other Russian home made moto dogs, but most use little lawn mower type engines. I want to see yours rip!
