Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

I had just the exact opposite customer service the few times I have called. Every time the rep on the other end of the line was very courteous, helpful and resolved my issue.

Definitely. To be fair to Smitty, all my previous inquiries were handled great. But whoever is working the trailer inquiries now (and maybe he’s reading this) was a total jerk about it. I imagine there’s some stress on their end with the manufacturing and legal (VIN) improvements so maybe that’s starting to show over the phone.

Or maybe this particular dude was just on the rag today :ROFLMAO:

Got a call Friday from the shop where my trailer was delivered to. The for a package from Smittybuilt with VIn info, safety stickers and some other stuff. Will pick up this coming week when I get back home.

The tongue reenfocement arrived at my house Thursday so that'll be going on shortly. Also got return labels for the 2 extra kitchen drawers that I received. That only took 3 months.

Smitty sold me an updated galley drawer, but sent me complimentary updated nylon straps for my tent as the originals were sun damaged. The experience was good. The rep was nice. I should probably pursue the reinforcement brackets at some point.

I finished something fun tonight. Something for the wife and kid to get a kick out of. Just looking forward to using this thing now.

Here are a few photos of how the bumper is attached to the trailer. It’s bolted on, not welded. We welded new brackets onto the bumper and bolted it on using the shackle hangers, the hitch, and some new brackets we welded on to the frame of the trailer.

While we were at it, we reinforced the frame with a left over piece of 3”x4” tube. I wasn’t sure if we had one of the trailers that would need reinforcements, so added the tube for piece of mind.

Nice man! I was thinking of doing the same and cutting off the D-ring mounts to simplify the install... but after seeing your solution I like it better.

Thanks! Cutting those shackle mounts off would be a ton of work. They are attached really well. Seemed like a great way to hang a bumper.

Hi All. Brand new scout owner. Just finished assembling on Sunday. Can't wait to start modding. Question: has anyone routed a propane line into the front of the main box where the stove slides in? Want to permanently run a propane line to the stove. Thanks.

I did a quick disconnect on the propane hose. It took a few adapters but wasn't too bad. I can look up the parts of you're interested.

Must be nice. I posted the message here about there being an issue and I still haven't gotten anything from them. After waiting over 3 months, I sent an email, and they didn't even bother to reply to it. Sent another one tonight, so we'll see. I think I'm to the point that if I have to call them about it, they're not going to like what I have to say. I guess they only work on the squeaky wheel gets the grease principle .. so I reckon I'll get ready to make some noise.
