    Lucky8’s Project Discovery 3

What you're saying makes no sense. Have you ever owned one of these things or even seen one on the trail first hand?

    Flashlight flavor of the month

I'm addicted to the 3-pack of Duracell branded waterproff LEDs (aluminum housing) from Costco. 15 bucks including batteries... high and low setting... great lights.

    The Super FJ Has Arrived

Why would anyone "hate" on your vehicle?

icon may begin to produce a defender model?

They have built 1 or two... they have a 110 SW at SEMA this week. In my opinion it's ugly and misses the mark widely, but some may disagree. The basic idea is great: a Defender with a 500hp LS V8, 6 speed auto, Atlas II, and ProRock 60's. But the "styling enhancements" they have executed on...

    AEV RAM At Sema.

I'm sure they did look at their target market... and you're probably not in it (by self admission). It's an all-purpose, go-anywhere, flatbed pickup. Like I said, you don't hear people saying a single cab Unimog "makes very little sense at all". Sure, that vehicle is designed to be even more...

    New to the LR World

Guys... the issues revolving around the Rover V8 reliability in the DII platform has been pretty well hashed out. This engine was designed in the late 1950's, and received updates along the way over the course of the next 50 years that it was in service. By the late 90's, the design had been...

    2010 L322 on 18"s...

The HSE does have the same rotors but smaller calipers than the SC. This may help your case, but I am not sure by how much. If it comes down to it, you should be able to swap to earlier, smaller rotors and calipers without much ill effect. The brakes on the 06-09 HSE were absolutely fine (I...

Earth Romer Article in Denver Post today

Million buck RV's are nothing new... if you take the build level of a super high end class A and marry that with the Earth Roamer platform... it could be a home run. Assuming ER has the capital to build one, they should waste no time getting it rolling.

Saw this FJ plow through a car in Fairfax, VA (He had an ARB front Bumper)

You say that like it's a joke. This is really happening in parts of Europe and even Australia (home of the bullbar). Won't be long til it's here next. Time to stock up!

    Josh's 2014 Xterra Pro 4x - guided by necessity

Tent bolted directly to factory rails FWIW I'm also running OME HD front coils with no bumper or winch. It's a little firm but it's fine. I actually like it the way it is... but I'm fairly used to driving 1 ton pickup trucks so my firm ride tolerance threshold may be higher.

    Josh's 2014 Xterra Pro 4x - guided by necessity

You can swap the orientation of the mounting rails. I did this with my ARB Simpson III and bolted it directly to the factory rails. I was also at the NEO Rally and I think I spoke with a few of you guys... White 2014 S pkg with 255/85 KM2s

    AEV RAM At Sema.

I don't know how you can hate on it. Its great to see a major aftermarket manufacturer focusing on pure off road ability and utility versus 26" wheels and bling. It shares the same basic layout as this...

    New to the LR World

I will interject that replacing an engine does not make a DII a "project vehicle". The engine swap can be completed in a day... hardly a project. It's a repair.

That is not a clone. That's the real deal. Also has about $5k+ of SafariGard parts on it probably from the early 2000's.

Jeep guy needs some LR info

^^^ FACT Same thing on the depreciation front. Look at LR4 prices. 4 years old with 60k miles is still worth about 70% of MSRP. That's crazy low depreciation for a luxury car.
