    Front sway bar disconnects

There was a post about disconnects on the front of the KJ in LOST a few years ago. The front suspension on the KJ really is not designed to go without the bar. Serious safety problems were noted there on LOST. Also they are very noisy suckers and rattle to beat the band.

    Roof top tent

Seth said in the magazine article done on his rig that the stock rails were tried, but one climb into the tent quickly told him they weren't up to it, there is no other place on the kj to mount a tent or rack to that I can see. The roof rack made by Rock Lizard would be the quickest solution as...

    Great tent idea

Any good boat top maker in your area could come up with the tent/hoops easily.

Jeep question for my Land Rover...looking for springs

Mike, You're a bit all over the place. There is a bunch of LR knowledge out there and if you stay with a known values and work from there I think it will go far easier. If the ACOS springs are the right size but not the right length or power than find out what the power, number of coils, coil...

    J8 diesel photos and story

Here in Oregon, we don't see many Ridgelines on the road. I wasn't aware they were selling that well for Dodge to think about moving to that type platform.

Not "offroad" but still really cool camper

Seems to me you would have a bit of give in the system due to your suspension, and you crested a rise as the units weight would unload off the rear wheels and transfer to your rear axle. I wouldn't call it off road worthy, but gas stations and parking lots with a rise or crest in them would be...

Cool trailer tents on ebay Australia

A bit huge for most of us I think, and looking at the listed shipping costs, I can imagine what it would be to the US.

    Liberty info

If you need a rig that can tow or carry something, get the CRD. I have an '05 Sport and just love the rig. Leaves many trucks in the dust under a good sized load and the mileage is great even in the real nasty stuff. Tried the other cute utes, if you really need to haul or carry something at...

    OR-FAB rear tire carrier

My dad's used Jeep came with one already installed. It carries the highlift, etc. very well and is still pretty quiet compared to some others I've been around. We pulled it off this spring to get at some rust, before it got out of hand, and I didn't see any metal stress or puckers to speak of on...

    Opinions: Liberty CRD

The CRDs were used with lower Ultra Low Sulphur diesel 15 ppm while we were using Low sulphur 500 ppm. We now all use the same stuff. Had the same thing happen to mine, cleaned the MAP sensor while I was doing other service and it went away. Clean the sensor more often now and it hasn't come...

    Opinions: Liberty CRD

I love my '05 CRD, pulls great, getting awesome mileage. I get better than 20 mpg in town, 28-29 on the freeway. Worst mileage so far 15 mpg towing a loaded two horse trailer over the Cascade Mts. There's no quit in that little diesel whille towing, pulls away from F-150s with similar loads and...

    Re-treads

JP magazine tested them against other off road tires. They said they were surprisingly quiet and rated them in the middle of the pack.

Has anyone used a fumoto drain valve

Installed one 1 1/2 years ago on my Liberty CRD, had to have an adapter built also as the CRD's oil plug was a weird thread. No problems as it's under the skid plate and it sure is nicer than pull/installing the plug and the mess involved.

    2008 Liberty vs Wrangler Sahara

I don't know, I like the Unlimited Wrangler, the only problem is you can't tow any real weight with it. The rear axle on the Liberty is as strong as the Rubicon rear axle, but the Lib pulls 5,000 lbs. I have the CRD which is flat awesome and pulls a load like a freight train, getting great mpg...

    XJ rear bumper ideas/pics?

Ramblers and the earlier AMC vehicles had front spindles that bolted on with a 4 bolt flange. Have built many trailers using them over the years. Don't see why they couldn't be used here.

    XJ Expedition Rig...

Detours is starting on the KJs now, a front winch mount is in the works right this very minute, with a few prototypes out now. Pics are available.

    So many to choose from.

I use Amsoil, it's easier to get than you think and I've had 2 rigs over the last 15 years that went over 200,000 miles on the stuff with no major repairs. One when I sold it was just a tad over 277,000 miles and started as fast as you could turn the key, was still running the original u joints...

    Classic Wagoneer as expedition vehicle?

The old man had a 60's J truck and wagoneer with the Pontiac overhead cam straight 6s in them. They got good mpg for the time, were reliable as a hammer and had great power.
