4Runner Trail Edition

wow. I don't like that at all.

Looks too much like a fjcruiser...In the wheelwells maybe.

That's exactly why I do like it...it would even be nicer with round headlights. My wife wouldn't allow an FJ...she said the 1/2 doors were no good with our kids?

I personally would like to see some lighter colored rims on there, maybe a graphite/anthracite or silver. To me blacked out lost its flavor a long time ago, seems like you've made that thing look a little dated since blacking it out. Just my opinion though, lets see if I can get my hands on a TE this year so I can shut my mouth and do my own thing

To each is own. The rims are a dark graphite (not black). I prefer the dark rims...I'm not a bling type of guy, but if you like spinners that's your thing. I'm building it to be practical not stylish. The rims are super easy to clean.

Why don't you hustle up and get one, then I can tell you how **** yours looks.

We have it for a few weeks. So far, a great truck.

As many of you know, I have a love for the 4Runners. This might be the first vehicle in recent years that is a genuine competitor of the 4-door Rubicon.
The FJ Cruiser is not considered a competitor to the 4 door Rubicon, or is it because the FJ Cruiser only has two real doors and the rear suicide doors?

I think he was talking about the 4Runner....But i could be wrong...

I know he was talking about the new 4Runner, but it sounded like he meant there was no real competition for the Rubicon until now.
I mentioned the FJ since they both share the same chassis, and it has been around since March of 2006.

I've never driven a 4runner, FJ or Rubicon. Just looking at specs from a capability standpoint, the Rubicon wins with it's front and rear solid axles with locking diffs.

Again, I have no real world experience with any of these vehicles.

I wasn't sure if I would keep the stock silver wheels, but they are growing on me.

I think they look great mate...doesn't hurt to have that amazing truck on top of'm either eh ;) Nice truck for sure.

I'm REALLY excited to hear our benevolent Mr. Brady call this a good competetior to the 4dr Jeep Ruby...minus the dual lockers and solid axles, that's saying alot IMO. Looking forward to seeing more of these in the future.

Cheers

Dave

Two full weeks with an exceptional vehicle.

There are a few glaring issues that put the credibility of the "Trail Edition" into question, but fortunately, not a super big deal to fix by the consumer. The comprehensive review will be out soon.
