Lone Peak Overland

VanIsle_Greg

I think I need a bigger truck!
I came across these by accident when looking at a few pop up camper videos in the YouTubes. I watched their tour video and a couple of owners reviewing them. I then popped over to their website and was actually surprised at the cost. Seems like a lot of camper for the money (even if I am Canadian and our Northern Peso is not doing that well CAD - USD).

I love my home build camper, but it is sort of a hassle to load and use. I think that I am maybe going to sell it and go for something like one of these. I was eyeing up the Alu Cab stuff recently, as well as the Go Fast stuff. There are even a couple of local builders in BC making some interesting stuff (might have been Abbotsford?).

These are pretty nice units.

**This is a temporary set up just for a trip I had over the weekendd. I’ll be mounting up a tilting fridge slide I ordered. and moving around some stuff inside the bed.

Well, in the pouring rain here in Northern California I have installed the new bed storage system I purchased. So far it’s amazing. It’s the very first one it’s been produced for a Gladiator so there’s a couple things the company needs to correct in terms of fitment. But I’ve already taken all the measurements and sent that over to them. Basically the trim pieces need to be re-cut.

Lightweight aluminum extrusion with aluminum panels. Starboard for the lid and the base plate. The whole system only weighs about 118 pounds. And it just has so much storage in there.

The company is TerraQuest off-road.
If you’re interested in finding out more information from them, please send me a message. I worked very closely with the owner and they have told me that they would love to work with anybody who else who is interested and I can give you a coupon code of sorts to make sure you get the very best deal.

I paid for this out of my own pocket, but I’m happy to recommend them. They will pretty much customize it anyway you want.

Hey I just wanted to pop in and post some pics of my Lone Peak Camper and my interior setup. I got the first production camper from Lone Peak, back in October 2023. I've had very few issues and they were all quickly remedied. LP sent me replacement corner pieces because there was a UV protection issue in the earlier builds (was just a cosmetic thing really). Also, I am still running the original mounting pucks with no issues even though they sent me the upgraded ones. I live in Colorado and have Off-roaded and camped in my Lone Peak a ton and still absolutely love it.1000011171.jpg1000011098.jpgView attachment 1000010641.jpg1000001330.jpg

Looks awesome @BudLoomis - great config utilizing the 5 ft Taco bed. Your interior is exactly what I'd want to do with my RR. Mind sharing what the interior components are if not a custom job?

With the sticker shock of what an Alu-Cab base cost and install would be Lone Peak looked like a great option to consider. I like their inclusion of the rising interior platform on gas struts. The price is certainly much more right and the options offered are really enticing.

Delivery timeframes are a bit of a bummer. I also am not sure why the mounting system can't work with drop-in liners. Not that I am thrilled with the factory drop-in, but kind of something I don't want to deal with removing and storing or discarding. I am also slightly put off by just how far forward the cabover bed goes compared to other shells, seems like a serious wind sail - though I understand a roof rack with deflector is a big help. Trade off to get more interior pass through space I guess.

Thanks the interior was built by: https://www.instagram.com/fahrt_systems?igsh=MjE1cTBkYTg0Y3Nj

I highly recommend them. They are located in Calgary Canada. Awesome road trip for an awesome custom build.

My Lone Peak installed perfectly with the factory 3rd gen Tacoma bed liner. I think it depends on the vehicle.

The length is my favorite part of the LP Camper. Provides a ton of room and no panels to move out of the way to get in and out of bed. Also, provides unobstructed airflow from my diesel heater, installed below. The section over the cab is only 1.75-2" above the roof or the roof rack in my case with the tall version.

I hope that helps. Hit me up if you have questions. I'm on Instagram pretty regularly if you want to message me there: BudLoomis

Lost access to my account sometime last year, and was too lazy to jump through the hoops of resetting my password. Finally got around to it, so figured I’d update. I picked up my camper a little over a year ago ago now, and still loving it. Like many others I’ve had a few small minor warranty issues that LPO was very quick to take care of. I’m around 37-38 nights in it so far, and about half of those have been with a family of four. The rest either solo or just me and my oldest boy!

How is it with the family of 4? I assume 2 up on the bed and 2 in the truck bed? That is currently my plan as I wait for my LP build date.

Correct. I left my bed mostly open, and have an inflatable mattress my boys share. They’re still young, so it’s pretty easy as it is. However I’m going to have to rethink it as they age. I think I’ve gotten it figured out, but proof of concept is still yet to be seen.
