Worse than Mammoth or Catalina Island?
I always treat Mammoth & Catalina with a lot of respect but Aspen is in a league all its own.

I have to say Aspen was....eye opening... the first time we flew into that airport...close second is St. Bart's airport, if you can call it that....

A cold day at the office...

Now technically speaking, wouldn't this be your old office? I mean, you've sold that one and moved into a new office, right?

That's his exceptional day. I want to see his regular day. Still, I'm sure that an :envy: smilie is warrented.

wow, some great pictures and cool jobs.

Here are a few pictures from this morning. I'm the steadicam operator surrounded by the grips holding the red nets (to reduce the wind's affect on the camera -- I was also using gyros). Just about ******** myself each take as the plane was so close!

Since I imagine you are a fairly small community, if not a close nit group, do you know Eric Fletcher? Notorious web personality among a few of my online social groups (stemming from Audi enthusiast sites), and widely disliked, but a steadicam operator in LA nonetheless.

As for photographing "what I do" ... it's boring as hell (market intelligence, data modeling, etc) and done within the walls of a building that doesn't permit cameras. Based on what others here do, I think I need a new gig. :)

No actual pictures of my little piece of daily paradise, but here's the public stuff.

Wow ... something actually close to my business, a rarity when talking to people outside the industry. I work for the Embedded Computing division of Emerson, formerly Motorola Embedded Computing (formerly Motorola Computer Group). We do mostly SBCs and integrated platforms based on PICMG standards such as VME, CompactPCI and ATCA and serve a variety of vertical markets, from Telecom to Mil/Aero. Looks like, from that image, your company overlaps the space we play in (no pun intended). :)

hi Rob,
funny, small world -- I do know Eric Fletcher. On-line he can certainly speak his mind and sometimes get under one's skin...but in person he's pretty tame. I think he's been running one of the Mazda race teams this season and will be returning to the show Dexter later this month. His s4 is fast a shiite, but he stays away from me as I can run him over in my hummer and drink him under the table!

and don't say your job is boring...everything gets boring after a while but as long as we can put food on the table and buy gas to wheel and explore we are all doing pretty good!
