Nikson, what Bill said pretty much nails it.
The weight added is around 380 pounds +/- based on the linear footage of various sizes of tubing used. I just want to have fun on the trails with my family, and ease my mind about how shoddily the cherokee is built when it comes to low speed roll overs....which are inevitable if you wheel long enough. The external portion is more about body damage control more than anything. There are lots of big tight trees here in the South, and rubbing against one doesnt bode well for the thin sheet metal. Im not fooling myself into believing the body would survive unharmed in a roll over, but my family should, hence the internal tie-ins. Jeeps are replaceable. I'd also be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the mad max look...just a little.
