Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

An issue of Land Rover Monthly has an article about this Defender that's been all over - Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. One thing I found interesting that could also be useful on expedition Jeeps is this external storage box. It mounts to the side of the top and appears to be about 6" deep.

The box looks custom built; it wouldn't be hard to build something like this to fit a Grenadier. Could even build it from plywood and shoot it with bedliner for a finish.

Ideas for Quartermasters...

The Winter 2022 issue of Land Rover Monthly features this HiCap pickup on the cover:

It's outfitted for shooting, and has two drawers in the bed with a nice wooden floor above the drawers.

The right side drawer is for guns and the other is for drinks. I never thought guns and alcohol really went together but maybe in the U.K. they do :)

A couple of interesting things...

On either side of the drawers are power outlets - on the left 240vac outlets (the standard in the U.K, bottom photo) and on the right side (top left photo) are 12v outlets and a battery monitor.

The top left photo above shows a repurposed fuel filler bezel with air and water connections. It's also visible in the first photo in this post.

Another idea for Quartermaster people who might want to sleep in their truck bed:

Just one problem, the Quartermaster bed is so short; I guess you'd have to sleep with the tailgate down for extra length. Or maybe just the kids could sleep there.

Wouldn't be difficult to build a frame for a canopy like this and sew the canopy and mosquito net for a Quartermaster.
