Meanwhile they put all this annoying spam on Facebook, as if everyone should be excited by their "reveal". Just let me know when it's for sale and I may have a look. But I'm over it already.

There are a lot of new companies popping up, and most of them are using an electric drivetrain. And frankly, that makes more sense than this. Because it is easier to start from scratch than with a conventional drivetrain.

Next to that, how would you get something like this qualified as safe enough? Perhaps in US when it is a truck? As a passenger car it will not work.

BMW engine has been used before in a Bertone offroader, based on a Daihatsu. Basically a luxury version of the same car.
But I doubt that it is liked by people who really wamt to have solid axles and ladder chassis.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for that Romanian ARO off roader that was supposed to be introduced in 1998.

I'm sure it'll be here any day now.

BTW that photo looks like a jacked up Honda Pilot with the world's ugliest wheels. I sure hope that's not the actual prototype because that's looks ridiculous.

Thats a Ford Everest body shoved onto something like the Ineos drvietrain. Probably used because its mainly an Australian market vehicle.

I mean...there might be a market if they aim for the military market, could help cover civilian costs...

There's no auto industry in Australia anymore...could this benefit from that, too?

I like what I see here -- spacious, purposeful, and capable. With the earlier-rumored 2200 lb payload, all of this has suggests a very interesting touring wagon.

Ineos to use BMW B58 engine.

BMW B58 Will Power Upstart Land Rover Defender-Competitor

"BMW seems to be loaning out the B58 turbo-I6 to anyone that asks for it, these days. First it started out as a partnership with Toyota, for the new Supra, then BMW lent it to the folks at Morgan and now we’re learning that the upstart Land Rover Defender-Competitor, the Ineos “Projekt Grenadier” will also get the engine............"

BMW B58 six-cylinder engine wins second “10 Best Engines” award from WardsAuto

"......Tom Murphy, WardsAuto Managing Editor, highlighted the main strengths of the engine: “We tested this B58 inline six-cylinder turbo a year ago in the larger X5 and it won, with 335 hp. Now, just a year later, it comes to us in the all-new 3-Series, which is quite a bit lighter, with an extra 47 hp.

The B58 was great then – it’s even better now. Stretching its legs, the M340i exhibits a glorious, throaty exhaust note, especially when cycling through gears with paddle shifters. This engine is remarkably flexible, great for daily driving and thrilling under a heavy foot.”.....

A B58 in a Defender style vehicle would be neat. I just hope this vehicle isn’t super ugly. Some of the spy shots I saw of the actual body look like a uglier 463 g wagon.
